Liana with 4-angled glabrescent stems armed with recurved spines to 2mm long. Pinnate leaves, coriaceous leaflets to 100mm x 60mm, glabrous above & lepidote beneath. Terminal spiny racemes of greenish-cream flowers with bracts to 1mm x 0.5mm, calyx to 0.3mm, glabrous corolla. Fruit to 110mm x 10mm.
