Thorny woody climbing or prostrate vine or glabrous spiny tree. Bipinnate leaves with 3-4 pairs, glabrous above, sparsely sericeous beneath, strigose leaflets to 40mm x 15mm. Axillary globose heads of reddish, white or lavender flowers, corolla to 2mm long, lobes to 10mm long, recurved spines. Glabrous legumes bristly or spiny on edges to 40mm x 12mm.
