Climbing shrub or liana, dark brown velvety twigs. 5-15 foliolate leaves, leaflets to 190mm x 50mm, glabrous above & silky beneath. Axillary pseudo-racemes to 370mm long with velvety bracts to 3mm x 2mm, inflorescence with 5-10 flowers. Flowers with velvety bracts to 1.9mm x 1.2mm & bracteoles at base of calyx to 1.9mm x 1.2mm, calyx to 7mm long with tube to 5mm long, white, pink or yellowish-white corolla violet at base, claw to 4mm long, standard to 13mm x 14mm, wing claw 5mm long & blade 11mm x 4.5mm, keel petals claw to 5mm & blade to 11.5mm x 6mm. Flat dark brown velvety pod to 140mm x 50mm x 4mm.
