Herbaceous fast-growing twining glabrous or pubescent climber, stems & leaves pubescent. Crenate or dentate glabrate leaves to 80mm x 60mm. Terminal cymes or panicles of slightly scented flower heads to 5.5mm long, 4 fragrant greenish-white flowers to 3m long with 5 lobes & puberulous bracts to 4mm long enveloping individual florets. Dark grey to black achenes to 2mm x 1.5mm with white pappus 3mm long becoming fulvous.
