Climbing to 1.5m or creeping monoecious sometimes glabrous simple tendril herbaceous vine with nearly glabrous stems. Thin dentate scabrid 3-5 lobed leaves to 120mm x 90mm across with 3-5 shallowly toothed pubescent lobes. 5mm long yellow or greenish-white flowers pubescent outside, racemes to 5 flowers to 30 mm long both sex flowers, male flowers in axillary fascicles or racemes, female flowers solitary axillary, calyx to 2.5mm long, yellow corolla 4mm wide with pilose lobes. 25mm x 12mm 3-celled purple & green berry aging black.
