Climbing shrub to 3m with sparsely pustulate to verruculose branches with reddish indumentum, becoming glabrescent. Leaf axils densely matted with oppressed rigid bristles to 7mm long. Coriaceous leaves to 150mm x 60mm. Terminal many-flowered paniculate cymes to 120mm long with white or pink bracts to 12mm long, 4 pink to [purple petals 8mm long. red fruit 4mm across crowned with persistent calyx lobes.
