Woody evergreen tendril vine with striate stems, hooked tendrils some disc-tipped, 3-foliolate leaves to 45mm x 15mm, glabrous above, hairy on nerves beneath, terminal leaflets to 13mm long, lateral leaflets to 6mm long. Terminal many-flowered panicles with bracts, 80mm long reddish-purple flowers with white throat with darker lines, calyx to 8mm x 5mm, bilabate corolla to 80mm x 30mm. Capsule to 300mm long
