Twining liana to 2.5m, tomentose throughout with reddish striate stems. Mucronate leaves to 90mm x 35mm, downy above, tomentose beneath. Purple-red flowers with yellow lobes & bracts, calyx 7mm x 4mm, orange throat with red lines, corolla hairy outside, corolla tube to 14mm x 3mm with thoat 20mm x 20mm , limb 50mm wide.
