Tall liana or tree to 18m, unarmed or with stipules or spines 7mm x 3mm & glabrescent stems. Imparipinnate leaves of 5-9 coriaceous leaflets to 240mm x 110mm, glabrous above or puberulent on mid-vein, puberulous beneath. Pilose terminal or axillary panicles to 300mm with bracts to 5mm long, sometimes spinescent, & bracteoles to 1.5mm x 1.5mm of cream to white flowers to 12mm long, ferrugineous calyx to 4.5mm x 3mm with teeth 1mm long & bracteoles, white to purplish or yellowish petals. Glabrescent green fruit 40mm x 30mm with terminal wing to 60mm x 40mm.
