Deciduous climbing fern with twining petioles. Palmate fronds to 1.5m with 4-7 lobed leaflets, fertile leaflets forming terminal panicles, dark brown creeping rhizome to 1mm or less in diameter covered in brown hairs, fertile pinnae in upper portion of frond, solitary sporanges, sporangiophore to 7mm long
