Vigorous trifid tendril liana with puberulent leaves, leaflets to 100mm x 50mm. Terminal or axillary panicles to 120mm long of lightly perfumed rosy-purple to bright red flowers to 60mm long, yellow calyx 10mm long, crimson corolla to 60mm long. Green fruit, capsules 420mm x 25mm
