Trailing or climbing glabrous scabrous dioecious herbaceous vine with bifid tendrils, hairy 5-angled stems, 5-7 lobed leaves to 100mm across slightly pubescent scabrid & toothed, white or yellow male flowers in axillary racemes with minute bracteoles, calyx lobes to 10mm corolla to 25mm diameter, solitary female flowers in 1-3 flowered inflorescence, fruit 25mm long armed with diverging bristles, 5-lobed leaves
