Annual herbaceous monoecious simple, bifid or trifid tendril climber or creeper with 5-furrowed glabrous stems. 5-7-palmatilobed scabrous leaves to 250mm diameter mottled with white spots on surface & hairy beneath. 50mm yellow flowers, male axillary villous racemes with 12-20 flowers, axillary racemes to 150mm long fragrant flowers yellow to 25mm long with green hairy veins, bracteole at base on inforescence, pubescent 5-parted calyx to 13mm long with sepals 10mm long, corolla with 5 hairy yellow green-veined petals to 30mm x 15mm, female flowers solitary & axillary, petals 20mm long. 500mm long glabrous club-shaped green 10-angled fruits
