Coarse scrambling subshrub with glabrous stem, spirally arranged glabrous or puberulous leaves to 110mm x 35mm. Terminal or pseudo-axillary racemes with dentate bracts to 7mm x 2mm, purplish flowers to 25mm with puberulous calyx lobes to 7mm x 1.5mm, corolla to 22.5mm, fruit a berry to 5mm
