Treelet or shrub occasionally a liana, young parts with ferrugineous hairs, paripinnate glabrous leaves to 6-paired, leaflets to 350mm x 150mm. Terminal racemes or thyrses to 600mm long, slightly fragrant flowers, slightly downy calyx, 5 dark red sepals, outer 2 to 3mm x 1.2mm, inner 3 to 4mm x 3mm, 5 cream or greenish-white petals to 4.5mm x 2mm, 2-lobed glabrous dark red to black capsule 15mm x 15mm
