Large scandent spiny shrub or small tree with furrowed stem and pinnate leaves, 5-9 serrated leaflets to 250mm x 100mm. 200mm long corymbs with triangular bracts 3mm x 1.5mm, red flowers, fruits dull red, calyx 3mm x 3mm, corolla 4mm long with lobes to 3mm x 2mm, grooved blue-black fruit to 20mm dia.
