Woody glabrous herbaceous twining liana to 15m with glabrate lenticellate stems. Puberulent or glabrous leaves to 180mm x 90mm. Axillary racemes or panicles with minute bracts of 35mm rose-red, blue or purple flowers with green centre, calyx 7mm long, calyx lobes to 3mm long, greenish-purple or magenta-crimson puberulent corolla with tube to 18mm long, throat 6mm long & lobes to 15mm x 20mm. Glabrous green follicles to 750mm long.
