Scrambling or climbing annual glabrous vine with narrowly winged stems, , single pair of leaflets with trifid tendrils. 1-3 flowered axillary inflorescence of 18mm yellow or orange-yellow flowers with red veins, toothed calyx to 6mm long, yellow corolla to 12mm long, unwinged pod to 80mm x 12mm light brown marked with a network of strenghtening veins.
