Slender thicket-forming clustering fish-tailed rattan to 30m, stem sheaths 300mm long sparsely covered with black spines 20mm long, leaves to 1.8m long with cirrus to 900mm long, leaflets to 200mm x 90mm, terminal straw-coloured inflorescence to 300mm long with dense chocolate indumentum & 2-6 bracts to 10mm x 5mm, pale brown flowers with 3 sepals to 3mm long, corolla tube to 3mm long with 3 lobes to 4mm x 3.5mm, fruit to 12mm x 10mm crowned with persistent style
