Sometimes climbing shrub or herb to 3m with striate puberulent stems. Leaves to 120mm x 50mm, glabrous except along major veins, margins crenulate to dentate. Terminal & axillary corymose racemes or panicles with white bracts 6mm long white flowerheads 10-15 florets per head, purple tinged phyllaries. Achenes 2mm long, pappus bristles 3mm long.
