Erect or decumbent subshrub sometimes scrambling to 1.5m. reddish-brown flabrous stems, mucronate leaves to 95mm x 100mm, glabrous to nearly glabrous above & villous beneath. Panicles to 250mm x 300mm with lower bracts similar to leaves, pubescent upper bracts to 30mm x 14mm & 2-4 bracteoles to 3mm long. 16-23 florets with white corolla, tube to 3mm long. Light brown achenes to 4mm long with bristles to 5mm long
