Climbing evergreen or semi-decidous glabrous twining shrub withangular branches, 3-7 imparipinnate leaflets. Terminal or sometimes axillary cymes or corymbs of fragrant 25mm white flowers sometimes tinged purple outside, calyx teeth 10mm long, pink corolla tube to 20mm, lobes 10mm. Fruit black berries to 10mm long x 9mm.

An essential oil used in perfumery is obtained from the flowers, medicinal uses.
