Tall scandent glabrescent woody evergreen twining shrub or scrambling climber with hairy stems to 10m. Mucronate leaves to 150mm x 60mm downy on margins & ribs beneath, glabrous above, downy petioles & branchets. Terminal or axillary cymes or fascicles 80mm long with bracts to 25mm long & bracteoles, of up to 5 flowers, 30mm fragrant solitary white flowers, tubes to 30mm, lobes to 18mm x 5mm, toothed calyx, villous calyx tube to 3.5mm long with 5-7 lobes to 6mm long or more, glabrous corolla tube to 25mm long with 5-9 lobes to 17mm x 5mm, & yellow or black berries to 15mm x 12mm
