Scandent glabrous twining shrub with terminal & axillary panicles or corymbs of fragrant 20mm white flowers tinted pink or red-purple outside, glabrous calyx with tube to 2mm long & 5 triangulat lobes to 0.5mm long, corolla pink outside or pale purple , waxy white inside, tube to 15mm long, 5 lobes to 9mm x 6mm, twin purple-black berries to 13mm x 12mm, pinnate or ternate coriaceous leaves, terminal leaflet to 130mm x 62mm, lateral leaflet tp 60mm x 30mm
