Large slightly woody perennial fleshy glabrous twiner to 8m with undivided or 3-lobed leaves glabrous, sometimes pubescent beneath to 160mm x 140mm. 1-few flowered axillary cymes of nocturnal flowering scented 120mm solitary white flowers with green mid-petalline bands & tube or large purple flowers, tube yellow outside, mucronate sepals 20mm long, white corolla to 120mm x 140mm. Pale brown glabrous 30mm diameter 4-valved seed capsule with persistent sepals.
