Perennial glabrous herbaceous twiner with furrowed stems, leaves to 100mm x 100mm, entire or 3-lobed, slightly pubescent above, mostly glabrous beneath. Many-flowered cymes of 90mm long violet to purple flowers darker in throat, glabrous coriaceous sepals to 5mm long, corolla to 40mm long, 2-celled fruit capsule to 8mm x 9mm diameter
