Perennial twining or trailing glabrous liane or herbaceous vine to 12m with woody glabrous stems. Pubescent mucronate leaves to 230mm x 190mm, pubescent or glabrous beneath. 80mm pink or bell-shaped magenta-purple flowers in axillary many-flowered corymbs or cymes with bracteoles to 19mm x 8mm, reddish glabrous or puberulent sepals, 2 outer sepals to 20mm long, 3 inner smaller sepals to 10mm long, dark lilac or pink corolla to 60mm long with limb to 40mm diameter. 13mm x 10mm glabrous beaked 4-valved capsule surrounded by sepals
