Twining or trailing perennial glabrous vine with tuberous roots, woody caudiciform stems, winged when old. Palmate 3-9 lobed glabrous mucronate leaves to 150mm x 100mm, lobes to 90mm x 30mm. Axillary few to many-flowered panicles or corymbs with 6mm bracteoles, of 80mm reddish-purple or pinkish flowers with darker centres, glabrous or puberulent coriaceous sepals to 11mm x 6mm, inflated glabrous pink or lilac corolla to 60mm x 70mm, tube to 60mm long with limb 30mm diameter. 4-valved fruit glabrous capsule to 15mm x 10mm green with persistent calyx around base.
