Sometimes decumbent twining tuberous-rooted perennial vine to 6m with sparsely hispid branchlets. Entire or 3-lobed mucronate leaves to 150mm x 110mm, pubescent above & glabrescent beneath. Axillary1-5 flowered cymes with bracts to 3.5mm long & bractlets to 2mm long. Purple flowers, mucronulate sepals, outer sepals pubescent or glabrate to 8mm x 6mm, glabrous inner sepals to 8mm x 9.5mm, glabrous blue or violet corolla, roseate within to 90mm long with limb 60mm diameter. Glabrous capsule.
