Herbaceous glabrous or nearly so, tuberous rooted perennial creeping to 5m or sometimes climbing twining vine with adventitious roots, wrinkled angular stems. 3-5 palmate glabrous thick mucronulate lobed leaves to 140mm x 40mm, toothed on margins. Axillary solitary or cymes with minute bracts to 3mm long, of 50mm long white to pale yellow flowers somewhat fringed with a dark red centre, mucronate glabrous sepals to 15mm x 4mm & longer & purplish spotted in fruit, white corolla with purple eye 50mm long, corolla tube 40mm long. Glabrous 15mm long brown 4-valved seed capsule or with white silky villi,
