Perennial twiner stems with golden-yellow bristly hairs, papery leaves strigose above hairy beneath to 150mm x 150mm. Pale red-purple flowers in cymes with hairy bracts to 25mm x 16mm, pilose sepals 10mm long, rose-red outside, deep purple inside corolla 55mm long, hairy 4-valved capsule 6mm long
