Twining or trailing perennial vine with tuberous roots. Pubescent stems. Leaves to 80mm x 100mm, pilose above & grey tomentose beneath. Dense cymes with grey-tomentose bracteoles 20mm x 3mm, red to purple-blue flowers darker in throat, sericeous sepals to 10mm x 5mm, pilose pale pink corolla to 70mm long with limb 40mm diameter. Glabrous capsule 9mm x 7mm.
