Annual or perennial glabrous herbaceous slightly woody twiner or creeper with rough stemmed, dark brown, reddish twining stems with recurved prickles or tubercules. 3-5 lobed or entire mucronate glabrous leaves 200mm x 160mm with minute hairs on margins. Solitary or axillary 1-6 flowered cymes with small bracts, of scented 150mm diameter white striped yellow-green nocturnal flowers, yellowish corolla tube 120mm x 6mm with limb expanding to 150mm diameter, lobes to 120mm diameter, coriaceous glabrous awned mucronate sepals to 16mm long, 2 or 3 outer sepals. brown 4-valved beaked capsule to 30mm long with persistent style.
