Liana to 7m with tuberous roots & white downy twining branches. Leaves to 100mm x 110mm glabrous or pubescent above, hoary tomentose beneath. Axillaryor terminal cymes, panicles, racemes or corymbs with tomentose bracteoles 9mm long, purple-pink flowers, glabrous sepals to 14mm x 7mm, corolla downy outside, pink glabrescent corolla to 70mm long with weakly lobed limb 15mm diameter. Glabrous brown capsule to 17mm x 7mm with persistent calyx.
