Tall rusty-tomentose herbaceous or woody stem-twining liana to 20m or erect shrub. Mucronate leaves to 150mm x 75mm glabrous or with soft down above, slightly strigose becoming glabrous below or with grey tomentum, reticulately veined beneath & tomentose on mid-rib & veins beneath. Villous terminal or axillary racemes or cymes or terminal corymbs or panicles to 300mm long with tomentose bracteoles, of fragrant white or creamy white or pink scented 10mm flowers, reddish outside, tube to 3mm hairy within, lobes to 5mm glabrous without hairy within, 5 tomentose sepals to 1mm long with tube to 1mm villous both faces, 5 petals to 8mm long & tube 4.5mm villous outside, & pubescent flattened follicles to 175mm long x 5mm with long beak.

Stem fibre used to make rope & sacks, medicinal uses.
