Tall twining dioecious liana to 13m with rusty pilose branches & branchlets. Coriaceous leaves glabrous or puberulent above, glabrous beneath to 100mm x 80mm. Axillary racemes or panicles to 225mm long, 1mm diameter yellow-green flowers, outer sepals 1.5mm x 1mm, inner sepals slightly longer, staminate flowers with petals 1mm long, pistillate flowers 1.5mm long. Scarlet to purple glabrous drupe to 16mm long
