Liana or high-climbing shrub with lenticellate branches & reddish pubescent branchlets. Glabrate leaves to 130mm x 65mm. Terminal 8-flowered tomentose panicles or coymbs with bracts & bractlets to 2mm long, of 12mm diameter orange-red flowers to 12mm wide, outside white inside red, 5 pink petals to 5mm. Glabrate pale green samara with falcate wing to 25mm long.
