Woody root-climbing succulent epiphytic vine to 30m or suffrutescent climber, glabrescent stems, striate glabrous branchlets. Glabrous leaves to 320mm x 165mm, with entire or serrulate margins. Axillary glomerules or cymes on old wood with bracts to 0.5mm long, pinkish-white or reddish flowers to 15mm long, glabrous toothed green calyx to 8mm x 4mm, sepals to 1.5mm long, 4 glabrescent white, pink or violet petals to 12mm x 8mm. Ribbed or angled glabrous orange to red fruit, rarely pilose, to 9mm x 7mm with persistent calyx remnant 1mm high.
