Herbaceous simple or bifid tendril vine with glabrous stems, palmate dentate glabrous mucronate leaves 7-9 foliolate, cymes of lantern shape orange-red male flowers to 15mm diameter, male zigzag panicles 90mm long with bracts 3mm long, corolla 20mm diameter, calyx with 5 lobes 10mm x 5mm, 5 petals 20mm x 12mm, female axillary cyme to 50mm long with 1-3 flowers, calyx & petals as male, female flowers to 15mm diameter. Triangular fruit capsule to 70mm long x 20mm
