Self-clinging evergreen woody climber yellowish scaly branches. Coriaceous unlobed mid-green glabrescent leaves sometimes with white recurved margins to 75mm x 42mm, sometimes 2-3 lobed, juvenile leaves on vegetative non-flowering shoots palmately 3-5 lobed. Terminal umbels or corymbs of green-yellow flowers to 5mm across. Glossy black berry to 7mm across with persistent style.
