Somewhat climbing & sprawling or erect aromatic armed shrub with recurved spines. Glabrous imparipinnate leaves to 200mm long, 5-15 leaflets 20mm x 15mmterminal. Erect panicles, cymes or racemes to 100mm long of bisexual flowers, petals to 7mm, reddish-brown outside, greenish on upper side, villous calyx to 1.5mm with lobes to 0.75mm, petals 9mm x 4mm with hairs above. Coriaceous yellowish-green to black drupe to 20mm diameter.
