Herbaceous climber with tendrils, 5-ridged or furrowed glabrous or slightly pubescent stems. Trilobate denticulate almost glabrous leaves to 150mm long. Flower racemes to 320mm long with pendant greenish-white 17mm flowers, calyx to 7mm wide, greenish-white corolla to 6mm long. Greenish-white to dark green fruit with light green lines, exploding when dry, to 80mm x 40mm
