Woody scandent stem-twining liana, tree or erect shrub with glabrous thin coriaceous leaves 125mm x 45mm variously shaped glabrous or pubescent beneath, scabrous above. Terminal or rarely axillary umbels with 5-12 heads of 6mm across of fragrant 10mm white or reddish flowers, 4-lobed corolla with hairy mouth, calyx tube to 25mm long with villous throat, 4 petals, corolla tube to 4mm long villous outside with 4 lobes to 10mm across. Bumpy hairy yellow to orange-red to black drupe to 20mm across
