Large vigorous twining tendril vine, hairs acute & prickly on all parts of plant, herbaceous evergreen tendril climbing vine with pilose stems. Trilobed to 7-lobed pilose denticulate leaves. 10mm red or yellow & orange flowers, pilose sepals to 40mm long, spiky bracts, 80mm green fruits.
