High climbing glabrous simple herbaceous tendril liana to 6m, twiner or trailer with puberulous striate stems. 3-5-lobed leaves to 180mm x 180mm, scabrous or glabrate above, puberulent-pilose beneath to 400mm x 400mm with spinulose-dentate margins. Male multiflowered umbel to 800mm long green tipped, orange & yellow flower to 25mm long with yellowish strigose calyx tube to 20mm x 5mm puberulous outside, sepals to 20mm long, yellow tomentulose petals 10mm long. Pistillate flowers in fascicles. Green fruit aging orange 90mm x 28mm. Tendril climber with short stiff hairs on all parts, large, stout more or less ferrugineous tomentose throughout, 15-flowered umbels.
