Liana, scandent shrub or tree to 5.5m with spines, Pilose leaves to 130mm long. Many-flowered cymes, white flowers with calyx to 2mm long, greyish silky corolla with tube to 20mm long & 5-8 lobes 6mm long. Purple or bright red velvety fruit to 14mm long.
