Liana to 10m, scrambling or erect shrub or small tree with purplish pilose branches, yellow flowers purple inside in axillary & terminal clusters or umbels, pilose sepals, petals 1/3 shorter than sepals, 1-4 lobed pilose green fruits turning orange then dark brown, a 4-lobed hairy yellow-brown drupe, 14mm x 15mm, hairy serrated leaves or scabrous both surfaces 100mm x 40mm
