Rust-villous climber or erect shrub, spikes of greenish-yellow flowers, simple tendrils, winged fruit. Slender woody climbing tendril perennial deciduous climber with pubescent or glabrescent branches. Axillary or terminal cymose racemes or cymose panicles to 300mm of flowers, male flowers with 5 sepals 1mm x 1mm, 5 yellow fragrant petals to 1mm. 3-winged fruit capsule yellow to 10mm x 12mm, brown samaras.
