Large woody climber with tomentose young growth, striated glabrescent twigs. Leaves to 85mm x 35mm glabrescent above & brown-hairy beneath. Solitary extra-axillary or leaf-opposed flowers with tiny red-brown woolly medial bract, Triangular red-brown woolly sepals 3mm x 3mm, yellow coriaceous outer petals to 25mm x 5mm, red-hairy outside, glabrous inside, glabrous inner petals 6mm x 2mm. brown-hairy fruit to 12mm x 7mm.
