Large woody climber, glabrescent striate young branches. Coriaceous leaves to 210mm x 80mm glabrous above & glabrous or slightly pubescent on nerves beneath. Solitary extra-axillary flowers or few-flowered inflorescence with medial bract to 5mm long, pubescent sepals to 6mm x 4mm, yellow coriaceous petals, outer petals to 40mm x 7mm pubescent outside & glabrous inside, inner glabrous or puberulous petals to 12mm x 3mm. Glabrous or slightly pubescent red fruit 12mm x 8mm
